Bill and I are the parents of seven children three girls and four boys, and. Grand parents of twenty-nine and the Great grand parents of four. Five of the grand children are step grand children another two were adopted. I worked at the Iowa Ordnance plant for thirty-two years retiring four years ago this past May. Bill and our second son Wendell have a Construction business. Bill and our youngest son Roberts own and operate the Car wash in La Harpe.

In 1977 we bought some acreage between La Harpe and Blandinsville this is where with the help of our children we build our home. We have helped three of our boys build homes. Wade has one in Rushville and Wendell has one if Fountain Green and Robert built a condo and five years later we built his home in Springfield.

Last year we was fortunate to be able to see a granddaughter (Ashley) Lead her troop in at graduation from the Air Guard. Grand - daughter (Bobi) graduate from Lincoln Christian college in a Two-year course. Next was a Wedding. Two months later we was off to South Carolina to watch AJ receive High Honors in his graduation ceremonies from the army guard.

This year Rob is getting ready to leave for Brazil to do his intern ship from a two- year course from South Eastern. Ty is in Maine doing mission work helping getting a Christian Church up and going. ME I baby set and try to hit as many Ball games as I can Bill is always ready for a Foot Ball game. This will be the first year for a long time that we haven’t had a varsity player on the Football team in LaHarpe.

Last October the children gave us a large Anniversary party to celebrate our fifty years together. It was a wonderful time. They gave us a scrapbook that was the greatest gift of all.
