Greetings, Class of ’54 Classmates:
Plans are underway for a “Fabulous Fifties-The Way We Were”, 50th Class Reunion, to be held Homecoming Weekend, October 1st – 2nd, 2004, and we are hoping you can join us!
Our tentative itinerary looks like this:
Friday, October 1st – 9:30 am – Breakfast together at La Harpe Restaurant “Dutch Treat”.
Following Breakfast – Build our own Float at Barb Walker’s home.
2:00 pm – Ride our Float in the Homecoming Parade (If possible, wear
50’s clothing, Purple, & Gold, etc.! Some of us are even hoping to find
Poodle Skirts!!!).
7:00 pm – Attend the Homecoming Game at La Harpe (Sitting together in
a designated area!).
Saturday, October 2nd - 10:00 am – Brunch at Mariana and Ken Schrader’s – Little Swan Lake!
A relaxed agenda of boating, swimming, water skiing, golfing, visiting, whatever for the day.
5:00 pm – Catered Meal / Program at the Christian Church, / LaHarpe
Fellowship Hall. (We will also be joined by the Class of ’53!) Be
prepared because you may be asked to be part of our program as we take
a “look back”. Sounds a little “Fun and Funny”, but we were, weren’t
we? We will also have a pictures / mementos table, so please bring
whatever you have to share!
8:00 pm – Homecoming Dance If you would like to attend.
Surely, after fifty years, your classmates, and maybe others too, would be interested in knowing about you, what you have been doing, what you have accomplished and how you left this world a better place. We are either naïve or senile enough to think that if we put together a good presentation, either booklet or electronic file, that it would be good for us and maybe even others. Could our wisdom of fifty years make a story that would challenge and inspire some of today’s high school kids? Reminisce a little and give us some of your philosophical wisdom, insight and information along with the basic facts and we will see what we can come up with. Also, please mark the events that you will be able to attend and send the money to Barb, so we may finalize arrangements. If you can e-mail your information in Word format to Mariana, that would make it much easier to work with. Also, if you have a picture or two that tells about you in the last fifty years, send them along, or better yet, scan them and e-mail them to Mariana. We will try to make something of them. Hope to see you in October!
